YouTube Is Awesome. An Absolutely Free Storage Site For Your Videos.

But, For Site Owners It Can Have A Downside.

Don’t get me wrong. I am a total fan of Youtube. I use it every day. Waaaaaayy more than Google. And for website owners, it is awesome. A totally FREE video storage site – that actually lets the site owners have Youtube send them videos from Youtube, direct to their site – ALL AT ZERO COST.

I hear you asking “So where’s the downside?”

Okay…. one of the main components of SEO is the number of visitors to your site, AND…. How Long They Actually Stay There.

Now, Youtube is a business, just like everybody else. And part of their business is getting visitors to their site, so that they can keep their own advertisers happy.

The Downside – comes at the end of every video. They show links to other videos in an effort to entice YOUR visitors away to their site. See that video endscreen (grabbed from a video being played on Youtube) – it has 12 links to other videos!! If this image had been captured on a Non-Youtube site, there would have been another link on the bottom row “Watch On Youtube”

Your next question should be, “How Do I Get Round This?” “How Do I Still Play Their Videos On My Site, But Stop Them From Taking My Visitors Away?”
